Hey Mosaic!
December is a month of beautiful Christmas lights, nostalgic movies, classic music, and celebrating with family and friends. But the truth is that this time of year can also be really tough for so many of us. It's not always "Hallmark Happy Endings". This Sunday we wrap up our "Peaks and Valleys" series. We are going to look at how we deal with discouragement and depression. We're going to see that even Elijah, this powerful prophet of God, suffered from discouragement and depression. I believe that God is going to use the story of Elijah in 1 Kings 19 to really speak to some people on Sunday and to bring hope and healing to some hurting hearts! Come ready on Sunday to encounter the Living God! Friday, Dec. 14: Women’s Christmas Party The Women of Mosaic will gather to connect and celebrate Christmas on Friday, December 14. This is a great time to relax and get to know other Mosaic ladies! Come as you are or wear your favorite ugly Christmas sweater to win the "Ugliest Sweater" prize! At Mosaic, we believe kids are a priority not just an afterthought! If you would like to stand in front of your friends and your church and dedicate your parenting and your child to the Lord, you can sign up to do that HERE! Thanks friends! See you on Sunday! Pastor Erik Hey Mosaic! I'm so excited for week 3 of our series "Stay Positive" this Sunday! I have been hearing some really cool stories about what God has been doing through this series through the first two weeks. If you missed either week, I would love to encourage you to listen to the podcast on our sermon page on our website. Just click HERE. I wanted to share two cool stories that have come out of this series so far: 1. After Pastor Nate preached on GENEROSITY on January 7th, we got this email from Tonya Pfeifer about her 4 year old daughter Allory: The kids made homeless packs today! Every time we drive to our good friends home that is near Minnehaha Falls, Allory's heart is broken driving down Hiawatha trying to understand how people don't have homes. It was weighing heavy on my mind last Sunday during service as we had just visited them on Saturday. When I felt the envelope under my chair I knew no matter what amount, we would help her put her energy toward this! Our plan is take a little trip on Sunday after service to hand out Homeless Packs. We are not taking them to a shelter as she wants to drive and find people to hand them to! 2. And Michelle Chase had this to say after Jeremy Stuber's message on January 14 on GRATEFULNESS: This has been heavy on my heart since since Sunday's message at Mosaic. Looking at life with a "grateful lens" = a more positive, healthy life!!! Although there are many trials and tribulations that come about in everyone's life, there are SO many more blessings that shine like the sun on a stormy day! I am taking the challenge to live a more thankful and grateful life! Looking at life as a blessing, trusting the Lord's journey for me, my husband, our little girl, my husband's business and our family and friends! I challenge everyone to be grateful for one thing a day and see what positive blessing that brings for your heart and soul. This is my challenge for 2018 and I am SO EXCITED! Here's her "grateful lens": I love that people are being inspired to be GENEROUS and GRATEFUL! Choosing to be positive and following the example of Jesus truly is the better way to live!
See you all this Sunday for Week 3 of "Stay Positive"! Pastor Erik THIS SUNDAY This Sunday, we will be continuing our series "Surviving Christmas." We don't want to just SURVIVE, we want to THRIVE during the Christmas season! But how do we do that? We get to know the PERSON behind the HOLIDAY. Join us this Sunday as we look at Matthew 1:18-25 and learn what it means that God clothed himself in flesh to be with us. How do we live in the reality of "God With Us"? What do we do when we find ourselves in a place we didn't expect to find ourselves in? Join us this Sunday as we explore those questions together! We'll also hear some very cool testimonies from two ladies in our church who are a part of our Monday Night Women's Group. It's going to be an inspiring, uplifting morning you are not going to want to miss! CHRISTMAS EVE Thanks to those of you who filled out our Christmas Eve survey! Because a majority of survey responders let us know that they would not be able to attend an evening service on Christmas Eve, we have decided to NOT add an evening service. Thanks for your feedback! But we WILL be doing a 10 AM Christmas Eve Service! This is a great chance to invite a friend or neighbor to celebrate Jesus' brith with us! We'll sing some Christmas carols, I'll share a message of HOPE, and we'll enjoy a time of fellowship after service with Christmas cookies and hot apple cider. (10 AM-11:30 AM). Who can you invite?? THIS Sunday, December 17: Student Ministry Christmas Party! Hey Middle School and High School Students! Join us for a night of food, fun, and games! We’ll do a white elephant gift exchange, play some fun games, and watch the animated movie “The Grinch.” This is a great chance to get to know the other students at Mosaic and to have FUN! Devon and Robby Cruz will be hosting again. Email Pastor Nate with any questions! (nate@mymosaicchurch.com) (5:30-8 PM) Sunday, December 31: Prayer Matters! We want to help you start 2018 on the right track! I will be sharing a special teaching on the importance of prayer, HOW to pray, and why we are going to start 2018 with "21 Days of Prayer" as a church! Plus we will be sharing some tools to help you grow in prayer and Bible study! Wednesday, January 3: Night of Prayer and Worship

It's going to be a great Sunday!!! Right After Church This Sunday: Starting Point Are you newer to Mosaic? We’d like to invite you to have Lunch with the Lindeens! On Sunday, November 12, we will be kicking off a brand new series called "MAKING CHANGE" and we will also be celebrating BAPTISMS! We believe baptism to be the immersion of a follower of Jesus in water as an outward symbol of an internal reality, reflecting the death, burial, resurrection and the finished work of the cross. Jesus was baptized and we want to be like Jesus! At Mosaic, we believe that GROWING PEOPLE CHANGE. Maybe your next step in your spiritual journey is taking the plunge and getting baptized? Sunday Evening, November 12: Student Ministry Event! Hey parents of Middle School and High School kids! Pastor Nate and I are planning a fun Fall Event for all students in 6th-12th grade on Sunday, November 12th! We'll eat pizza, sing a couple worship songs, and play some fun games. We're also going to have a drawing and give away a $50 gift card to the LifeWay Christian Store in Maple Grove to one lucky student! 5:30-8 PM on Sunday, November 12th. Friday, November 17: Men’s Vintage Game Night Hey guys! Do the words Atari...Nintendo...Sega Genesis...and Golden Tee mean anything to you? Join us for a retro gaming night for all Mosaic men! It'll be an 80's themed night with 80's music playing, great food, and a prize for the best 80’s themed outfit! (Think of movies like Top Gun, Karate Kid or TV shows like Miami Vice for clothing inspiration.) Put it on your calendar and invite a friend to come party with us! At Mosaic we believe in CREATING COMMUNITY THROUGH EATING TOGETHER AND PLAYING TOGETHER! This is a great chance to do that! Sunday, November 19: Baby/Child Dedications Child Dedication is the act of standing before your church, your friends, and your family, and dedicating your parenting and your child to God. You don’t need to be a partner (member) at Mosaic to dedicate your child. Lots of exciting stuff this month!!! Our leadership at Mosaic want to help you take your next step in your spiritual journey and help you find community and friendship at Mosaic! So dive in and jump into community this month! Pastor Erik Hey Mosaic! This Sunday we continue our journey through the Song of Solomon! Have you ever wondered why marriage can be so tough? You're not alone! Join us this Sunday as we learn how to SURVIVE CONFLICT, how to FIGHT FAIR, and how to make up with PASSION and DESIRE! Even if you aren't married, this is going to be a great message helping us all learn how to navigate conflict in our different friendships and relationships. This might be the most important message for you to hear in this whole series! Upcoming Events: Saturday, October 28: Mobile Hope Bonfire At Mosaic, one of our Big Three is “Serving Others”! We are never more like Jesus than when we are serving others! One of the ways we do that is by having Global Partners, like Leah and Tyler Hanson in Malawi, Africa, and by having Local Ministry Partners, like Mobile Hope. We'd like to invite anyone who wants to know more about Mobile Hope to join us at Pastor Nate’s home in Maple Hill Estates Trailer Park for a bonfire and a chance to eat s'mores, make new friends, take a tour of the Mobile Hope Center, and meet Brian and Jill, directors of Mobile Hope! 6:30 - 8:30pm. Pastor Erik Hey Mosaic- Yesterday was a big day in the life of our church! I presented our church constitution to a Recognition Council of a dozen other Converge pastors and they unanimously voted to recommend that we move from being a "church plant" to an OFFICIAL CONVERGE NORTH CENTRAL church!!! The church planting road has been more exhausting, demanding, life-giving, joy-filled/sorrow-filled than I ever thought possible. I'm so exceedingly grateful that I don't have to do this alone. I'm blessed to serve alongside an amazing group of Minnesota and Iowa Converge pastors who encourage, challenge, and support me in so many ways. And I'm so incredibly blessed that God has brought an amazing team around me and Kristin to get this church off the ground. It's cheesy but true: TEAMWORK makes the DREAM WORK!
