Mosaic Values:
What kind of culture do we want to create? These define our personality.
1.) Jesus Changes Everything
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. (2 Corinthians 5:17-19 ESV)
Jesus is the center of all that we do! We believe that Jesus has the power to change hearts and minds, to heal, and to restore. Because we have been saved by Jesus (reconciled with God), we want to do whatever it takes to invite others to know our Savior Jesus and to proclaim this message of reconciliation!
2.) Growing People Change
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ…And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. (Philippians 1:6, 9-11 ESV)
The only way to experience the abundant life Jesus wants for us is to take our next step and experience Him in the process. Wherever you are on your journey, whatever is going on, you will always have a next step to take as you grow.
3.) Creating Community Through Food and Play
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. (Hebrews 10:24-25 ESV).
Jesus didn’t do life alone. He brought His disciples everywhere. If the Son of God didn’t do life alone, why would we? We need others who will challenge us and encourage us to take next steps.
4.) Saved People Serve People
The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. (Matthew 20:28 ESV).
Served people turn into saved people when saved people are willing to serve people. Want to become more like Jesus? Focus more on serving others than on being served. The best way to improve our marriages, make a difference in our workplaces and discover our purpose in life is to serve those around us.
5.) Outrageous Generosity
As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life. (1 Timothy 6:17-19 (ESV).
Giving allows us to demonstrate that Jesus is more important to us than material things. There is no organization with more potential to change the world than the local church!
